Up and Away Magazine Nominated for World's Leading Inflight Magazine After Winning Caribbean Award

Voting for Bahamasair In-Flight Magazine for International 2024 World Travel Award Ends October 20

After winning the prestigious title of Caribbean's Leading Inflight Magazine at the 2024 regional World Travel Awards this past summer, Up and Away Magazine has been nominated for the title of World's Leading Inflight Magazine. Up and Away, which is the inflight magazine for all domestic and international Bahamasair flights, is nominated alongside several global inflight publications, including enRoute (Air Canada), Hemispheres (United Airlines), Heritage (Vietnam Airlines), Indico (LAM – Mozambique Airlines), Kia Ora Magazine (Air New Zealand), Morning Calm (Korean Air), Msafiri (Kenya Airways), Paradise (Air Niugini), and Wings of Oman (Oman Air). The title of World's Leading Inflight Magazine will be decided by the public, and voting will take place until October 20 on the World Travel Awards website.

Up and Away won regional recognition for its innovative approach to inflight entertainment, storytelling, travel journalism, and publication design at the 2024 World Travel Awards, which was hosted in St. Vincent and the Grenadines this past July.

Capt. L. Roscoe Dames II, the Managing Director of Ivory Global Management Ltd., which publishes the magazine, expressed his pride on behalf of the entire Up and Away team and noted that he is elated to be nominated for the international title.

“It was extremely exciting to be recognized as the Caribbean’s Leading Inflight Magazine, and it is absolutely surreal to be in the running to be named the World’s Leading Inflight Magazine,” noted Dames. “This award and the nomination are a testament to the dedication and talent of the entire Up and Away team. It is also a reflection of the shared commitment that we have with our partner, Bahamasair, to deliver a world-class inflight magazine that resonates with travelers and showcases the local beauty, culture, cuisine, attractions, and heritage of the Bahamas, the destinations serviced by the airline, the wider Caribbean, and the world."

Dames added, “I also want to extend a heartfelt thanks to our writers, including Capt. Sandy Campbell, Nikia Wells, Scott Johnson, Kendea Smith, Keesha Claudia Bethel, Yolanda Hanna, Kirsten Harrington, Bianca Major, Tyrone Fitzgerald, Dr. Myrurgia Hernandez, Alexandra Kaufmann, Nasia Colebrooke, Shavaughn Moss and Tina Walsh, whose contributions have made Up and Away a standout publication. A massive thank you also goes out to our production and design team for creating the vibrant visuals, our printing company for maintaining the highest quality standards, and to our advertising partners who allow us to bring Up and Away to life. Without them, this would not be possible."

The World Travel Awards have been recognized globally since 1993, honoring outstanding achievements across various sectors of the travel, tourism, and hospitality industries.

Voting for the World's Leading Inflight Magazine can be done online at www.worldtravelawards.com/vote. Voting closes October 20. Current and past issues of Up and Away Magazine can be viewed online at www.ivoryglobalmanagement.com.
