The Marcus Brunch Experience is a new monthly addition to the Baha Mar resort's vibrant dining scene. Each month promises to offer a unique twist, with a different theme designed to keep guests coming back for more. Marcus restaurant is the vision of celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson, who is known for his inventive fusion of global flavors and his ability to elevate traditional comfort foods.
While the restaurant offers an à la carte Sunday brunch each week, the Marcus Brunch Experience takes it a step further with an inclusive, themed event held once a month. Each brunch promises to deliver an unforgettable culinary journey, with a wide array of dishes that reflect the dynamic fusion of Marcus’s signature style and Bahamian influences. The inaugural brunch, aptly named “Brunch to Sparkle: A New Year Celebration,” set the tone for what promises to be an exciting series.
Guests at the kick-off event were treated to bottomless bubbles and mimosas as well as music by DJ Ignite who set the tone for a fun afternoon. The menu was a true reflection of Chef Marcus’s culinary mastery, blending traditional American comfort food with the vibrant flavors of the Bahamas. Signature dishes like his famous fried chicken with hot honey and cornbread with spiced butter rum were front and center, offering a delicious balance of sweetness, heat, and savory goodness. For those seeking Bahamian-inspired flavors, the brunch featured fresh tropical conch salad, conch chowder, fried plantains, baked macaroni and cheese, and coconut johnny cakes. The variety of dishes on offer was nothing short of impressive, with everything from fresh chilled seafood to a cold salad bar, breakfast staples like waffles, grits, and eggs, and a selection of international dishes and soups. Meat options included brisket and whole roasted grouper, while vegetable and vegetarian dishes ensured there was something for everyone.
The dessert spread at the Brunch to Sparkle event was equally indulgent, with a wide selection of treats that satisfied every sweet tooth. Cookies, brownies, parfaits, and a decadent chocolate fountain were just a few of the options, along with classic favorites like cheesecake and fresh fruit.
The Marcus Brunch Experience will continue on February 22 under the theme “For the Love of Brunch.” And, as an added bonus, patrons can never be sure when Chef Marcus himself might make a surprise appearance.
