Excitement is building on Grand Bahama Island as the much-anticipated Junkanoo Parade, dubbed “The Pineyard Rush,” is set to light up the streets of Downtown Freeport on January 9, 2025. The celebration will begin at 8 p.m. on Explorer’s Way, with the vibrant and pulsating rhythms of Junkanoo bands creating an unforgettable spectacle for locals and visitors alike.


This year’s parade pays tribute to the late Charles Michael "Mikey" Wright, a cherished figure in the Junkanoo community whose legacy lives on through the art form he so passionately supported.


In addition to the thrilling Junkanoo procession, attendees can enjoy a variety of entertainment offerings. The event promises electrifying live performances, a high-energy DJ clash, and an array of food vendors serving up delectable Bahamian cuisine. It’s a night designed to showcase the richness of Bahamian culture while bringing people together in celebration.
